Some people think tiger maple wood comes from a different species of maple tree than “regular” maple, but that isn’t true. Tiger maple has a unique design on the wood due to the natural grain growth of the tree. Tiger maple is valued, quite highly, for its natural, distinctive “tiger” design that is sought after by furniture makers.
