Red Ryder was a syndicated Western comic strip from November 6, 1938, through 1965. Stephen Slesinger and western artist Fred Harman created the original Red Ryder strip, which became the inspiration for books, movies, and comic books, and it inspired a potpourri of Red Ryder merchandise that is still collected today.
